Monday, Monday

Long time no blog -
I am sitting in the cool of this corner, eating some pre-dinner munchies and drinking a tank of water with it. I am convinced that I never drink enough water, and so I am making a new resolution to drink about a gallon of water each day. I really think that it wil make me feel better and my skin clear up too.
I just cleaned the Castle. I found a new favorite cleaning aid - orange oil. It is awesome stuff - I shined all the kitchen cabinets and doors today - it does wonders on the scratch marks where Ginger beats up the door. Plus, it smells so good I could drink it - (I won't, don't worry - I am drinking water).
Other things - we went to McCallister park yesterday and hiked for a bit - its such an expansive place, and quite a wilderness too - full of deer and armadillos, cacti, and very dry brush. There are even campgrounds there too (though it is quite beyond me that you would want to camp there). It felt good to stretch our legs and breathe some fresh air, away from the polluted chaos.
I am thinking about what to make for dinner, and have decided that I need to find some more chicken dish recipes, since we eat poulty mostly. I think I might take this quest online.
Life is pretty good - I am still waiting for a phone call - i will call tomorrow and see what's up so that I can move ahead with other avenues of employment seeking.

I am learning a lot about patience :)

God is Good

I am happy. Today has been productive. The lincoln woke up this morning with a flat tire, so bleary eyed, I drove carefully down the road to give it some tlc at the air pump. That kept up nicely for a couple of hours until I drove it on the backroads to discount tires where they pulled a screw out and patched it up. The other three seemed to check out fine. I am so grateful that the fogue is still going, it has been more than a blessing for us to have another running car! :)

I have convinced myself that looking into other sorts of jobs is actually not so bad at all. I just had an interview at a cheery deli nearby. It sounds pretty promising, but we'll see. The catch is that they need people to work on Sundays. Sorry, I ain't your girl, brother . . .
You know, in all this, there has been so much for me to learn. Patience with what God is doing in my life is the biggie. Another is learning to surrender my pride and my independence and clothe myself in humility. No matter what I am looking at right now, it all boils down to one thing; it is a job, and it pays, and it will keep me going. I am grateful for that which I cannot see yet. It will be good, whatever God brings.
I just cleaned the kitchen and now I am most certainly going to do some pilates. Ta Ta.

Beacon

The delay is somewhat embarassing. But the post is picked up once more, even though this time around I seem out of steam.
There just isn't that much to communicate though. Sometime soon, I think that there will be a breakthrough, and I will elaborate on the change. Until then, my pen runs dry. I am forcing something out though, regardless. I need to keep pushing through this barriar of doubt and downcastedness, in hopes of breaking through to the other side. The light is still glimmering, and I know that Hope still beats faintly. His faithfulness is my beacon and my lighthouse.

Sweet Mercy

Its the end of the work week, two days before the Sabbath. Such a sweet deliverance that day is too . . . . rest for the weary, renewal for the weak, comfort for the afflicted, fellowship for the lonely, deliverance for the oppressed, water and manna for those who are thirsting and hungry. Friday's come with great anticipation.

I am making spaghetti tonight - its chilly outside. Mom used to make spaghetti and meatballs for us on cold days. So hearty and homey, the oven steaming the windows in the kitchen and the livingroom. Its funny how I am brought back in vivid memory when I stick a handful of pasta in a boiling pot of water :) The sliding glass door isn't even coming close to steaming. Oh well.
The man just called - the countdown begins . . . 15 minutes, 14, 13, 12 . . .
I am happy today.

Fog on the Morn

Its kind of cloudy outside, slightly chilly, slightly damp.
Goodness, its been a while since I last posted - here's a few highlights:

The rodeo was absolutely awesome - especially the medieval event and the mutton bustin'!
Two people we know got engaged yesterday (and I am sure millions and millions more did too). Congratulations!
Today is payday! Yay!

I need to go grocery shopping & Costco - BIGTIME. We are out of everything. That's right, the only things in the fridge are leftovers which are probably trying to crawl out as I speak - gross.
Oh Yeah, Valentine's Day ~ We decided to go out to eat last night - chipotle :)
1604 was a nightmare - there were like three accidents and a line of traffic down Henderson Pass, which never happens there! Crazy things happen when the crazies are out on the road!
Anyway, off I go to jump into the day!

11 February 2006

Happy Saturday Ya'll :)

(Sorry, I felt compelled to break out the ya'll :)
Haven won tiks to the rodeo today, so we are going to go yeehaw at the SBC center. It'll be a fun time.
I am waiting for breakfast to finish baking, and then we can sit down and enjoy somethin' warm on this chilly morning. It makes it feel like winter here though :)
Ta ta for now :)

Split Splat

I am presently enthralled by the rain - enthralled . . . (isn't that a lovely word, the way it rolls off your tongue?)
It started right after the husband left for work - I crawled under the covers of the messy bed and slept for one hour more, only to wake up to more splattering on the patio.
The window will be left open for a while - we must have some of this fresh air flowing in. Nevermind the mowers and the blowers who are edging and cutting the shrubbery - I closed the blinds and contorted my body on the floor - oh yes, it is the pilates way. . .
Today is Friday, and that is the last day of the work week - the day before the "day before" the Day of Rest - Oh goodie

Four Months

A clueless couple said "I Do"

"Though she can't seem to cook to save her life, he still thinks she's a spiffy wife."

Garage sales, taking adventures, white russians, the Simpsons, calls from mother, making the oven smoke occassionally, *sigh* Star Wars Battlefront, going to the library, harassing the porkus librarian, Chipotle, using our Target gift cards often, getting a table, chewing out Ashley furniture, getting promoted, sleeping in on Saturdays, beer for him, light margaritas for her, coke for him, diet coke for her, chocolate kisses, his cookies, the fogue, the subaru, our growing collection of stuffed animal koala bears, killing ants, Axe, leopard print anything, calls from his mother, sometimes wondering how we'll make it to the next payday, Costco, getting sick, vitamin C, orange juice, kleenex, the grumpies, the happies, getting better, the HEB new release module, laughing a lot, crying a lot, making out a lot, praying a lot, reading the Bible a lot, thanking God a lot -

For His grace and Mercy and for 4 months of marriage.

I love you Babe!!!

Love Song for a Savior

Dear God,
Why are You so good to us? Why do I sit here in disbelief, as Your blessings keep abounding over me? Lord, why do You love us the way You do? Why did you send Your most Beloved to save us? We are but mortal men? Why did you give us eachother? Why did you create us so wonderfully? Why do You forgive us? How do you stand it, when we daily turn our backs on You? Why do You keep running after us? Why did You adopt us as Your sons and daughters? Why are You faithful to the faithless? Why are You so good to us? Why?
Thank You for your goodness, may we always be thankful to You.
Thank You for Your Blessings to us.
Thank You for Your love for us.
Thank You for sending Your Son.
Thank You for the gift of eternal life; for taking away our mortality.
Thank You for the gift of others.
Thank You for creating us, and for sustaining us.
Thank You for forgiving us.
Thank You for running after us.
Thank You for adopting us as Your children.
Thank You Lord, for Your faithfulness.
Dear Lord, Thank You for Your GOODNESS.
