I have a 54 lb dog trying to get up on me right now, so blogging has gotten even harder ;)

I promise I am still here - just busy and there is precious few moments to post during the week. I am loving reading all ya'll's blogs though.

Tomorrow is Friday AGAIN! WOHOO!

Oh yes, and the SPURS WON LAST NIGHT!!!

Paint

We like color - we just added two more colors to our house palette. . . a coffee brown and fern green are now adorning our master bathroom. I have great visions of creating a lovely escape in there. Cattails and ferns, vanilla, and some sheer curtains . . . Ooo la la . . .

GREAT ESCAPE ;)

My hubby is off to get a Harvest wheat frozen pizza - (MMMmmm good)

Oh yeah - and some brownie mix for chocolate cravings. ;)

Happy Sabbath evening and Memorial Day Weekend :)

Friday . . .

Phew . . .We made it.

This had to be one of the hardest 'wake-up' mornings ever. Its okay when one of us is sleepy, but this whole week, both of us have struggled to disentangle ourselves from the clasp of this comfy bed. This morning in particular, seemed quite a helpless struggle. Thanks to the dog for saving us from sleeping the day away with his 'I need to go potty/I am hungry/love me/play with me - Bark'

Anyway. Showers and coffees later, life commences.

Note: Lack of sleep is not a good thing. Having all these season finales all in the same week is not a good thing.

Happy Friday.

There will be much sleeping in tomorrow. You too, dog.

New Mercies, every morning

Its a brand new morning, and the sun is shining through the bedroom window as I am typing.

Do you ever pray that God would tuck blessings into your day? Or reveal those blessings to you? These are the hidden blessings, the ones that you don't really even realize, or that you take for granted.
For me, its the 15 minutes of computer time before I go to work in the mornings. . . its savoring the last drops of hot coffee and patting my pup. Its thinking about how nice it will be to come home to my husband. Its the new route I found to get to work, its the energy that God has given when I thought that I was completely out. . . etc. etc.

These are the blessings that I am thankful for - the simple ways that He shows His faithfulness.

New mercies every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness!

Whim of the Grim

There are dishes in my kitchen sink, waiting for a wash
dishes in my kitchen sink, they're so dirty, oh my gosh!

Dishes in my kitchen sink, making one big kitchen stink
Driving me beyond the brink
I think I need a really strong drink

Oh Dirty dishes,
This girl wishes

that hubby (?) might clean the mess I've made
and I'd consider him most brave ;)

5-minute Devotional

* this encouraged me for this tired morning :)

Your Crown of Glory

"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb . . . and they loved not their lives unto the death" (Rev. 12:11).

When James and John came to Christ with their mother, asking Him to give them the best place in the kingdom, He did not refuse their request, but told them it would be given to them if they could do His work, drink His cup, and be baptized with His baptism.

Do we want the competition? The greatest things are always hedged about by the hardest things, and we, too, shall find mountains and forests and chariots of iron. Hardship is the price of coronation. Triumphal arches are not woven out of rose blossoms and silken cords, but of hard blows and bloody scars. The very hardships that you are enduring in your life today are given by the Master for the explicit purpose of enabling you to win your crown.

Do not wait for some ideal situation, some romantic difficulty, some far-away emergency; but rise to meet the actual conditions which the Providence of God has placed around you today. Your crown of glory lies embedded in the very heart of these things--those hardships and trials that are pressing you this very hour, week and month of your life. The hardest things are not those that the world knows of. Down in your secret soul unseen and unknown by any but Jesus, there is a little trial that you would not dare to mention that is harder for you to bear than martyrdom.

There, beloved, lies your crown. God help you to overcome, and sometime wear it. --Selected

"It matters not how the battle goes,
The day how long;
Faint not! Fight on!
Tomorrow comes the song."

Glow pink, turn tan

I went in a spaceship tonight. I flew for 7 minutes, orbiting around a UV solar sun. Blasting breezes blew down on me as I held the handles and adjusted the beady goggles over my eyes.

I wore sunscreen, protection level 15. Just enough to make me glow pink and turn tan. This is the kind of color that hurts sometimes.

The price of beauty is a rip-off.

Home Improvements

Well, remember this post?

We decided to paint the stairway wall Marmalade - very bright, cheerful

The little ways you love me

are the best. . .

Happy Mother's Day to you dear mother's out there, including (and most importantly, my own dear mom, and two precious grandmothers :)

~ Something Sweet ~

My hubby has remembered me each of these past three mother's days that we have been together. . . even though I am not yet a mother. . .
But that doesn't dissuade him in giving me a lovely mother's day card - He loves to encourage me that someday I will be a mother, and for that, he loves me even more. For this time in-between, I am always thankful.

Thank you honey, I'll make you a proud daddy someday :)

Sneaking posts

I am sneaking in a tiny post . . . just because I miss blogging so . . . sigh - life is very busy and full right now, Its been hard to keep up with this.

Things are on the 'up' though (minus our poor Spurs pathetic loss to the Suns last night ;(
Otherwise, work is on the mend, BSF is almost done for the year, and we are slowly starting on house projects.
Oh yes, and successful dog crate training is paying off (Yeah for good night's sleep!!!).

By the way, while we are on the topic of dogs, while we are waiting for LOST to come on, I have "World's Ugliest Dog" on right now . . .

UGLIEST DOGS I'VE EVER SEEN!!!
(How could God let such atrocious creatures walk this earth???)

Its the kind of show you watch with one eye closed because its so gross, but the other open because you just have to see what the creature looks like ;)

EWWWW

Now you see it . . .

Now you don't . . .

This past Saturday, we were finally able to get rid of our pool. Not that we were totally opposed to having a pool, but the upkeep and cost were a little looming.

With the pool out of the way, we have a better use in mind for this free space - a pave-stoned patio with an outdoor fireplace, and custom flower box bench seats (Hubby's idea :)

Another project in the works, to be continued . . . ;)

Color

I have a bug in my bonnet to paint this portion of our house - the staircase wall, which is bland and boringly white. I would eventually love to fill it with a line of pictures, but I haven't even gotten some from our wedding framed, so that could be a while. In the meantime, painting the wall some bright and cheerful color is very inspiring.

I found the greatest site in the world - COLR.ORG, where you can type in colors that you are looking for, and they will generate schemes and actual paint colors that you can buy :)

. . . To be continued. . .
