Now you don't . . .
This past Saturday, we were finally able to get rid of our pool. Not that we were totally opposed to having a pool, but the upkeep and cost were a little looming.
With the pool out of the way, we have a better use in mind for this free space - a pave-stoned patio with an outdoor fireplace, and custom flower box bench seats (Hubby's idea :)
Another project in the works, to be continued . . . ;)

Ahem...you DO know who you could hire to help you with that project, right? I happen to live with someone who does excellent flagstone/hardscape work for a living, including outdoor fireplaces/pits. ;)
If nothing else, if you're trying to do it yourself, he may be able to spare you some unwanted lessons that he had to learn the hard way. I know he'd be happy to help!
;) Thanks - we were actually thinking about getting some ideas from him. H is still thinking through if we want a circular or square plot though, so we are just ideas in the brain right now (a dangerous thing left unguided to the novice 'landscraper' ;)
