unordinary

Its almost the end of this lonely week . Haven has been in Kansas this week for training - he'll be back tomorrow night. What can I say except that living apart is weird. . . I enjoy the little bit of freedom, kinda vegging out, not really cooking at all. . . but then I miss the jobs that God gave to me when He united us.

I haven't done any fun crafts lately - I need to get started on something. It might take a wander around Joann's or Michael's to get the juices flowing.
I take a whole day of sewing classes on Saturday - my machine is brand new, and yet I have not used it yet. Well, enough, I say. Its time to learn how to drive this thing ;)

Oh, this was pretty funny. I saw this on CNN while I was at the gym - it'll give ya a giggle. . .

Oh So Sleepy Saturday

Yes, it truly is . . . we've been good troopers all week - making time for fellowshipping with others, eating, taking walks, going to the gym, cleaning, visiting some more as the night waned, and now, we are just plain tired. . .
The last thing on the "Saturday" To-Do list is to get our cars serviced. . . H's is gonna be done at 3:30 & he just took my car somewhere else to see if he could get it in (yesiree folks - itsa oil changin' time here/as well as a brake check).
Lazy day indeed. I had coffee with my BSF friend this morning - we talked for 2 hours/15 minutes straight! Its been a while since I sat down with a girlfriend and talked about life . . . something you take for granted I guess.
H got his hair cut - he looks so incredibly handsome when he's freshly shorn ;)

Well anyway. . . I am enjoying this day immensely & will probably take a nappy-noo sometime here.
Cheers and best to you all for a happy Saturday afternoon and glorious Sabbath!

Rewinding

No, I have not forgotten that I have a blog :) Did you notice that I fixed my links? - Now you can visit some of my friends and family :)
We've been busy. We got back late Monday from our trip to Idaho. It was so good to visit dear friends again. . . Seth and Naphtali got married. It was a pretty wedding, and they were such a happy couple. I was glad to see my man in a tux again (he was his best man).
We got to visit with H's family, and stayed with our roommates (his & mine got married last year, bought a house & they had a darling little baby girl recently).
It was strange to be back in little Moscow, where we went to school and fell in love. . . at one time, we even thought that we might live there. But now, we both are such at a peace with where the Lord has put us. We are happy here, and the blessings come in showers. Someday, I think we might move back to the Northwest though. . . that would be the hope.

Haven has training in Erie next week > I don't like it when he's gone, but it won't be too long. We are house-sitting for our parents, my best friend is coming out in July, and then we are house-sitting again for some friends. . . crazy times.

The summer flies by quickly. . .

Delicious

Ye, that is my only thought a ce moment . . . nothing beats dark purple/red, cold grapes on a hot day.
We just went to the Texas Folklife Festival - under the Hemisfare & under the sweltering sun - at least they were giving out "Aquapods" - the newest little member in the bottled water line (go to www.aquapod.com if you are curious). Well anyway, out of all the things to do in San Antonio, this has got to be one of my favorites - we walked around and visited all the booths - each booth represents a different culture/ethnicity. We went inside the Museum of Culture, and yes Virginia, there actually were some Dutch adventurers that came here - one of the towns up by Austin actually got named after one - Bastrop (he was a Dutch con-man I believe). Anyway, crazy stuff. H had a good time strolling around and eating samples. We arrived in time for some Dutch folk dancing (with the wooden shoes). It was a fun time.
Now I am cooking some meals, and cooling off.
This Saturday has been delicious :)

Ugh

I hate this - I changed the template once yesterday and in the process, lost all of my wonderful links! I managed to get one back on, but I have been messing with it for about an hour now, and my head is beginning to hurt. This profile is undergoing some improvements. . . tonight, I am going to give up - it will be fixed soon. . .

happenin's

Muggy morning - they say it'll be a hot Wednesday - no worries,I am eager to go sit in a cold office :)
Last night, we found a lost alaskan husky (light tan with white underbelly, ice blue eyes) - So cute I could hardly stand it. It was too late to try to get the owner's contact information from the vet, so we housed him on our small patio. He was a good boy - I used an old saddle pad and a blanket, fed him water and leftover meatballs. He didn't bark, all he did was look cute. I think Haven and I are sold out on this breed. His owner came this morning and took him home -

We have a leak - big one right above this computer in fact. Haven moved everything over a foot, and now a bucket is catching the water. Apparently, the neighbor's washing machine had a leak or something. Anyway, I just keep looking forward to this fall, when we are getting out of here. . . :) then we can get a dog ;)

Summer Fun

Sheesh.
I'm surprised that this thing hasn't started to mold. Its been a long time since I last was on here.
Okay, we have done some really fun things lately - I think we are both sort of recouperating from all the fun!
We went to Retama Park a week ago, for their 50 cent night. They featured a live country band, horse races, a petting zoo for the kids, and some other fun activities. It was really relaxing after work:) Sorry, we forgot the camera on that one.
We saw the new X-Men last Sat. Don't really reccomend it. I was sorely disappointed. I loved the first two, and I felt jipped. Oh well.

Memorial Day, we went to Enchanted Rock, up northwest from us. We took a group. Shayne, Emily, Missy, & some Warren folk. We hiked around and enjoyed really beautiful sights. No injuries, or deaths so it was successful! We ended the day with lunch in Fredericksburg, bodies were sore but we felt victorious - we had conquered that mountain (or more like giant pick granite rock!)

Views from the top:

Haven in a rock :)

The conquerors :)

My boss gave Haven and I tickets to see the Missions on Tuesday. Its been a long time since I've been to a baseball game. We had a great time.
(I tried to put a pic up of us, but my limit for this post seems to be up . . .)
