As I was on my bed writing down some prayer requests this morning, I noticed something small & dark MOVING slowly across my nightstand. Horror of horrors, it was a roach, crawling on top of my Bible and making his evil way to my cup of cranberry juice.

Sicky
I am pretty sure that the flu-bug has been sapping my energy this week - I feel so sluggish, so tired, and have almost lost all of my appetite. Monday morning met me with a slap - vomiting, fever, and nausea kept me home from work. . . Tuesday I managed to go back, and eat a little (good ol' saltine crackers!). It was the day to feel better - something I was so thankful for, because it was my week to teach. Wednesday was pretty good as well.
And then today, I woke up so exhausted, but got myself to work for a couple of hours and then decided to throw in the towel. Me no workey this week.
On the plus side - I think I've lost about 6 lbs this week. . . nice but I am not really into this weight-loss method.
So, sleeping and drinking mass quantities of water have been the way of the land in this dominion.

Jack Frost, you got my number
A cold front is moving in - fast-paced, loud and dramatic - winter's grand entrance.
Hector and I bundled up and went out to meet it. We skipped through the late fall leaves and tried not to get swept away. The rain is soon to follow, but we are now snuggly in our warm little house.
I am doing laundry and watching a delightful movie called 'Band Wagon' - a Fred Astaire movie I have not yet seen :)
The house is almost clean, and I am excited that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Mom always creates such a feast and I am eager to get over in the morning to help her.
Haven comes home tomorrow afternoon - he has a four day weekend - the poor guy will probably spend most of that just trying to get over the flu he caught :(

Icky Allergies
This has been the worst two-day episode ever. I hate the fact that I am being licked by tiny little pollen clusters.
Nature's got my number.

Hi-Lo
It seems like ages since I have posted. (I think that am spotting some mold around the edges of this monitor ;)
I am trying to get over a bug as quickly as humanly possible before a new week begins. It seems a rather helpless struggle against a matter of hours, but, I am trying. We whisked back home right after church (for fear of contaminating a large body of dear fellow Christians). Let's just say that pink eye and flu-like symptoms are a deadly mix in a social setting).
Sleeping, drinking mass quantities of iced water, & bridezilla episodes have characterized my lazy day. Hubby certainly gets the prize for being an excellent nurse and handy man while I've been under-the-weather. After a 3 hour nap, I wandered downstairs at 7:20 this evening to find a white-washed and freshly painted bathroom, weeded garden, clean patio chairs, and Caesar salads from HEB on the table. What a guy.
I never have any excuse to complain :)
***While we were in New Mexico, my talented and wonderful grandmother gave each of her granddaughters a stained glass jewelry box, each unique and with her trademark butterfly :)
Doesn't she do beautiful work?

Slower traffic, please move right
I need a chocolate fudge sundae
A backrub
A bubble bath, surrounded by scented candles
A rainstorm
A day off
A Pride and Prejudice marathon
A visit with my best friend
Sorry, its just been one of those days. . . where I was wishing that I didn't have to be a working girl anymore, wishing that my car had wings to lift me above the traffic, my body would be just the size I wanted, that I wasn't getting sick, and that I would feel less rushed.
But this is not the case. Things are exactly the way that God wants them to be. He has put just enough on my plate for me to realize that I need Him DESPERATELY. He has also not given me anything that He thinks that I can't handle. That is relief enough.
There is so much I wish for, and yet, I still would not be completely satisfied if I did have all those things.
What good is it to me to gain the whole world anyway. . .its just the world.

A little bit of everything, all rolled into one
I am kind of wondering if this is going to be a 'fast' week - I have my secret hopes that it will be. With H finally over a yucky bug, I think that it is now my turn to get sick. These bugs always seem to start with a scratchy, sore throat, followed by head congestion which makes you feel like you have been hit straight-on by a semi. . . ugghh.
H used up all the Dayquil, so I need to make a little trip to Walgreens.
We had a wonderful weekend. We found a working dryer! Or, maybe we just found that our breakers weren't working quite right - at any rate, we are tumbling loads of wet clothing & they are emerging DRY.
Well, another sweet blessing was to see my Grammy and my Aunt from New Mexico. They actually were on their way to visit my brother and his sweet fam in Ohioland, but only got as far as Dallas and then San Antonio. What a fun surprise!
I got out of jury duty yesterday - bringing in a contract which proved that we were moving to a different county saved me. :)
I started packing things last night, but, now as I look around at what I did, I am already getting annoyed with myself for not doing it in an organized fashion. I hate disorder, and I am not too keen about throwing miscellaneous things in boxes that will give me a big headache later.
This is our first move - together.
Any suggestions or tips to make it as easy as possible?
Hope everyone has a great week - I so am glad that we can't pass germs through blogging!
