Strawberries and Sunsets

I made chocolate-dipped strawberries this past weekend. Accompanied by brownies, we had some sweet post-Valentine's treats. . .

But the sweetest thing was this stunning sunset we saw on our walk :)

Splat

H and I decided to do somethin' kinda fun. Somethin' we've been wanting to do for a while. Somethin' all True San Antonians must do at some point or another - go see a Spurs game.

So to online to ticketmaster, we went . . .

Tickets for two - much money was spent . . .

We hopped in the car and went to the little basketball kingdom downtown. Our seats were great (despite the man drenched in cologne next to me who liked to spread himself out).

Its been sometime since I'd gone to a game - and it was Haven's first. We were optimistic as the Spurs had won the last two games, and the first two quarters were going pretty well, with the men in white keeping the Hornets at bay.
And just when we were getting settled into our seats with some soft serve ice cream and peanuts, New Orleans stung. Hard.

Third quarter was really painful. Our little team began swelling.

We thought the Spurs would make their usual comeback - it was their court after all. We were going to show them' Hornets whose territory they were on. . .
But the swelling got worse. And the fourth quarter came with no relief.

It was horrible.

We left 6 minutes early, shocked and disappointed. They were supposed to win this game. This was OUR game.

We opened the paper this morning to see that it was the worst home game loss for them in history. And we were there.

At least we were part of the history.

102 - Hornets
78 - Spurs

No SPURS, NO!!! :(

Why I should NOT casually browse into Williams-Sonoma on my lunch break . . .

Mom got one of these to crush her pain meds - It was so fun that I think I want one too ;)

This color scheme delighted me - the pattern is a little busy - dunno if the husband would like ;)

This cooker looks positively splendid - and it'd better be, given the price ;)

Elizabeth: The Golden Age

I recently saw this with the parents - beautifully done film & Cate Blanchett does a phenomenal job as Elizabeth :) The costumes and cinematography are also brilliant. Don't miss this one!

Whisked & Refreshed

UPDATE :)

Haven is a winner - we went to Boerne on Friday and stayed at the Crescent Quarters Inn

It was a much needed mini-vacation, filled with the perfect amount of sleeping in, eating, and browsing around charming downtown. The weather was breezy and cool, with a tid bit of rain, and a few puddles here and there - perfect!

Haven bought me this pewter bread plate at the pewter store while we were there - (Mom, recognize it ;)? She has the same one).

I love being surprised - What a special time, thank you Honey!

We stayed in the French Room :)

My hubby surprised me yesterday with an early birthday gift . . . he told me that he wanted to take me to the hill country tonight! He cheated and told me where we would be staying. . . but, I am still so excited. The last time we tried to get away (to Dallas, for a F0rmula One race), our car coughed up some problems and we only made it to Austin.

:) I'll bring my camera -

Cheers!

You say hello, and I say goodbye . . .

This will be a late night full of packing and getting ready for our trip to New Mexico for a family reunion. Whew - its been quite a week! The NBA finals (= LATE NIGHTS! ;) Work busy-ness, family happenings, and some exciting decisions and opportunities have left us with a big adrenaline rush.

It is only a matter of time until we crash ;)

We'll be back on Monday - sadly missing our wonderful church & a Spurs victory parade at the riverwalk ;(

Have a wonderful weekend, and a blessed Father's Day!

Summer Nights

The past two weekends we have been having fun around downtown San Antonio. Long weekdays sort of lend themselves to a desire for relaxing rambles down at the riverwalk ;) And, last night, we enjoyed a night of Shakespeare, under the stars for the 'Taming of the Shrew'.

(You can see production photos here)

These are pics from the riverwalk. We did a little adventuring in a different section, visiting the new Aztec theater. It was so cool that we decided that we need to go back and actually see a movie there someday :)

Friday - It couldn't have come at a better time ;)

Its been a very long week, and I am glad to see it at its end now.
Hubby and I celebrated the weekend over Chipotle burritos and later, a Lost episode we missed last week. Sigh.
I have the best hubby ever - he mopped all the floors (kitchen & bathroom), unloaded the dishwasher, and disinfected the toilets. I didn't even nag him ;) What a guy :)
I have a lot of BSF lessons to finish before tomorrow's meeting, and its already 10pm!

We are tucking ourselves in for the night, as a sever thunderstorm is headed our way. Night Night!

*Yeah - I am procrastinating about those Ohio trip pics - I'll get to it ;)

Happy Friday - the 13th, AHHH!

Our Little Bluebonnet

You can go ahead and laugh your head off . . .

We are becoming GENUINE Texans at this rate. It is bluebonnet season here, and the freeways are blooming with the blues. And so begins the great family photo-ops as you pass by cars littering the shoulders and families dressed in white posing amongst the buds. . .

Everybody else was doing it, so we decided to take our little pooch for some posey-posing.

Frolicking

Spring Baby

So, he kind of lost his interest in this - he was more interested in chasing a rabbit.

Oh Well. . . ;) maybe we'll be better next year -

Whimsical Wimberley

Saturday, with a little last minute decision-making & a little prompting from my parents, we headed north to a quaint little town called Wimberley, full of charm, culture and humor. . .;)
